We partner with older adults who play a key role in helping our editorial and research teams evaluate products across categories like sleep, fitness, nutrition, and wellness. Your unique perspective helps us translate real-world performance into trustworthy recommendations for our audience. If you enjoy trying new things and sharing your thoughts, you may enjoy being a tester.
The Testing process
We test our products in our dedicated Charlotte, NC studio space. Our senior testers work closely with our expert testing team to provide a cohesive evaluation of the products. A team member will moderate the session and introduce you to the product category, which may include mattresses and sleep accessories, exercise equipment, nutrition tools, beauty and personal care products, and wellness and recovery products. Here’s a quick overview of how the process works:
Welcome & Orientation
When you arrive at one of our testing studios, you’ll meet with an expert tester who will walk you through the session plan, answer questions, and make sure you feel comfortable before getting started.
Hands-On Product Testing
Your session typically lasts around three hours, depending on the category. During that time, you’ll interact directly with a variety of products while our team observes and records feedback.
Guided Feedback Collection
You don’t have to take notes—we do that for you. As you test, our expert will ask simple questions, capture your thoughts in real time, and help guide you through the evaluation criteria.
Wrap-Up & Next Steps
Before you leave, we’ll review your feedback with you, answer any lingering questions, and walk you through what happens next.
How to Become a Tester
Fill out a short online form
This questionnaire asks for basic information about you, such as your age, what kind of products interest you, and your general lifestyle. These questions help us match people with the right testing sessions.
Complete Paperwork
Once you have been approved, you’ll fill out a few standard forms, including a background screening, a liability release, a permission for photos or video, and a payment form. These help us run the program smoothly and pay participants
Join Our Senior Tester Network
After completing the onboarding paperwork, you’ll be a part of our senior tester network and may be invited to participate in specific testing sessions based on your demographics, product familiarity, and availability. Not every tester participates in every study, but senior testers remain in our pool for future opportunities.
