Vice President, General Manager
The Opportunity
Pillar4 Media is seeking a Vice President, General Manager to join its fast-growing team.
As a member of senior leadership, you will be responsible for launching and scaling Pillar4’s next commercial vertical. The ideal candidate will have experience at a growth stage company. Additionally, candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in a business-oriented discipline.

What You'll Be Doing
- Own a market vertical (one of our four pillars) and drive it to escape velocity by ensuring we have a strong understanding of what market leadership requires in its category
- Use the knowledge to create an effective, detailed operating plan to win market leadership through channels such as organic search and paid search
- Drive effective execution of the operating plan; create clarity and accountability for the team on how to execute this plan and win the market
- Own the P&L statement for the group, including all levers necessary to achieve strong results (client prospecting, partner deal terms, attribution, paid media analytics, organic, conversion, etc.); create and grow operating cash flow
- Build and elevate top partner relationships, creating close executive relationships so we have an unfair advantage through deep understanding of the clients’ business, attribution systems, people, and deals
- Recruit the team, provide outstanding leadership, and create a positive culture
What You Bring
- Ability to create effective partnerships and deals
- Understanding of organic search fundamentals, such as keyword research and competitive analytics
- Understanding of digital advertising channels, including media and funnel KPI definition and analytics and Google Ads and Bing platform expertise
- Experience working in ecommerce and managing user experience and conversion rate optimization
- Management of web design and development projects
- Empirical testing design and execution
- Reporting design and delivery
- Affiliate network and attribution experience
- Performance-based or customer acquisition business models
- Financial acumen, particularly understanding of the drivers of the P&L and an ability to manage those effectively
- Most importantly, we want you to have “business builder DNA” evidenced by a track record of leadership in building successful businesses
