Summer Internship: Editorial, Design and Video  

Summer Internship: SEO, Paid Search, Customer Experience

You will be asked to submit a cover letter specifying which role you are interested in along with your resume. Internship submissions will be accepted through February 26th. If selected for an interview, you will be contacted between March 1st and March 3rd.

What our team does

  • Write and edit in-depth product reviews to be featured on our websites, other media sites and social media platforms. 
  • Convey all the ins and outs of sleep and fitness products in a voice that’s captivating, knowledgeable, and fun. 
  • Create (and star in!) dynamite video reviews to accompany said written product reviews. 
  • Collaborate with the SEO, CE, video and design teams to bring our reviews to life. 
  • Uphold our high standards for editorial excellence and follow our established brand guidelines.

The types of projects you will work on

  • Create detailed outlines and briefs for our review content.
  • Assist with writing and/or updating important content on our sites. 
  • Edit articles to be publication ready — includes fact-checking, reviewing for spelling and grammar, ensuring content follows our brand guidelines and meets user intent, incorporating SEO and CRO best practices. 
  • Publish content in our CMS (WordPress) — includes formatting, internal linking and selecting appropriate images/graphics to support our written content. 
  • Research new topics/subjects for written and video content. 
  • Conduct competitive audits and present key findings to the editorial team. 

By the end of the summer you will

  • Have real-world experience working with our talented team of writers, editors and SEO analysts. 
  • Understand what it takes to create content that wins — ranks on Google, captivates our audience and generates revenue. 
  • Have tangible assets that you can include in your creative portfolio.

What our team does

  • Design compelling graphics to support our written review content.
  • Wireframe and build effective web page templates using UX and CRO best practices. 
  • Create impactful digital ads for social media and paid search.
  • Design motion graphics and video thumbnails for our YouTube channels.  
  • Collaborate with the SEO, customer experience, video and editorial teams to bring our reviews to life. 
  • Build out brand style guides for each brand in our portfolio. 
  • Ensure all creative assets are on brand and compliant with digital standards. 

The types of projects you will work on

  • Assist our designers with creating graphics and illustrations to support our review content. 
  • Edit photography to be featured on our reviews or other advertising platforms. 
  • Create thumbnails and motion graphics for our video reviews. 
  • Collaborate with our design team on important branding projects, including page redesigns, new website or microsite wireframes, logo creation, and new advertising assets. 

By the end of the summer you will

  • Have real-world experience working with our talented team of designers, editors, videographers and SEO analysts. 
  • Understand what it takes to design impactful user experiences that drive action on a number of digital platforms. 
  • Have tangible assets that you can include in your creative portfolio.

What our team does

  • Film and edit in-depth product reviews, “how-to’s” and promotional videos that are featured on our websites and YouTube channel.
  • Collaborate with our editorial, design and SEO teams to create content that is informative and on-brand.
  • Ensure our video content is captivating, knowledgeable, and fun for our audience to watch.
  • Create dynamite motion graphics for our video reviews. 
  • Edit videos to be compatible with different formats such as social media platforms or paid advertising. 

The types of projects you will work on

  • Assist our videographers with video editing for review content.
  • Create and/or edit designs or motion graphics in After Effects.
  • Produce versions of our videos to be used on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. 
  • Collaborate with the editorial and design teams to brainstorm and test new video formats, such as Q&As, debates or more informational videos related to sleep and fitness.  
  • At least a year of experience with Adobe Premiere is strongly preferred. 

By the end of the summer you will

  • Have real-world experience working with skilled videographers and editors. 
  • Understand the ins and outs of video production from script writing and pre-production all the way through a finished product that’s edited for multiple formats and platforms.
  • Have tangible video assets that you can include in your creative portfolio.

As an SEO team at Pilar4 Media, we partner with our other Pillar4 teammates to drive growth in organic search, whether that is on Google, YouTube, or other platforms where consumers search.

The types of projects you will work on

As an SEO intern at Pillar4 Media, you could:

  • Use data to improve the on-site experience and content for one or more of our sites.
  • Research topics and audience segments with competitive analysis tools to discover new opportunities for one or more of our sites.
  • Compile and analyze industry data, in partnership with our content marketing team, to create in-depth content that helps solve problems for our target audience.
  • Execute technical site audits to improve the health of one or more of our sites.

What our team does

  • Manages the customer buying journey generated from all paid media channels.
  • Analyzes website user behavior with onsite analytics to understand how users behave on our sites.
  • Hypothesizes and launches website A/B and multi-variate tests to see which site experiences perform best and drive growth.
  • Actively manages paid media execution in Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads, and more.
  • Owns and operates multiple business line P&Ls with daily and weekly performance reporting.
  • Works together with Frontend Development, Design, Backend Engineering, SEO, and Content to launch tests and web experiences that are best-in-class.

The types of projects you will work on

  • Working on the Paid Media team, you will learn how to successfully navigate and execute within Google Ads, Bing Ads, and Facebook Ads.
  • Dedicating time to both paid search and paid social, you will be immersed in channel analytics, execution, and testing.
  • You will successfully be certified across the various ad platforms (Google, Bing, Facebook).
  • You will own tests and help manage portions of paid media accounts from pulling data, launching optimizations, and executing tests.
  • You will become an expert with Microsoft Excel and SQL databases.
  • You will work closely with our Customer Experience team to launch tests for the volume that you actively manage.

By the end of the summer you will

  • Understand the intricacies of digital platforms, customer analytics, and how to execute optimizations and operate a digital business.
  • Be well-versed with leading platforms such as Google, Bing, Facebook and Instagram Ads.
  • You will become an expert with Microsoft Excel, WordPress CMS, and SQL databases.
  • Share test results on projects you manage with Senior leaders and receive feedback on the strategy and performance.
